Brain Work... Makes Your Life Work
Unlock the Power of Your Brain through Neurofeedback
Brain Work Centers provide a Natural Way to improving your brain health through
Dr. Amen’s Brain Health Assessment & Neurofeedback, a drug-free, non-invasive method that helps return a sense of balance, clarity, and peace in your life.
What is Neurofeedback Therapy?
Neurofeedback is a revolutionary technique for teaching your mind how to function more effectively at an emotional and behavioral level – it’s sometimes used on those struggling with ADHD as well as other learning disabilities or developmental delays in school age children! It can also provide relief from anxiety, depression, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), chronic pain and sleep problems.
While individuals may have their own unique set of symptoms, a qEEG brain map provides an accurate way to identify areas in need and creates an individualized protocol for training.
How does it work?
During normal everyday function, the brain communicates using 4 different kinds of electrical impulses or “brain waves”. These 4 categories of brain waves are Alpha, Beta, Delta, and Theta. Each of these brain waves relay different messages and signals to the rest of your mind and body.
- Alpha: Idle processing, a state of quiet wakefulness, or a state of meditation.
- Beta: Fast processing, externally focused, day-to-day tasks
- Delta: Slow processing, winding down, relaxed, deep dreamless sleep
- Theta: deep relaxation
To train, the client is fitted with sensors that read and monitor these electrical impulses within the brain while watching their favorite TV show. When brainwaves are optimal, the client has a real-time reward by seeing the show in full brightness and volume. When brainwaves are dysregulated, the picture and sound dim. The moment the brainwaves regulate again, the brightness and volume return. This process allows the brain to be “rewarded” and learn how to better self-regulate.

Imagine life without...
Attention and Activity Problems
When someone has symptoms that are commonly diagnosed as ADD/ADHD and chooses to participate in the Neurofeedback process, the ultimate goal is to retrain and reorganize unhealthy brainwave patterns. As a result, the brain self-adjusts, becoming more stable, efficient, and capable of operating optimally.
Anxiousness and Negative Moods
We all feel anxious at times, but when a person’s brain is in a constant place of unfocused mind chatter or worry, their brainwaves become abnormal, and their body reaches a state of heightened overstimulation. Neurofeedback is known to retrain these unhealthy frequencies and can produce long-term positive results that will encourage an over-all mental calmness.
Chronic Pain
Chronic pain can make simple tasks such as walking, climbing the stairs, driving a car, even sleeping difficult. If left untreated chronic pain can have a negative effect on your life. Neurofeedback could be an option to help relieve chronic pain.
Sleep Issues
Neurofeedback can have a profound and positive effect on problems with sleep. By retraining the brain and improving the way it responds, new neural pathways are created, helping the affected individual to sleep better.
Headaches
Restore health and vitality by optimizing brainwave function and reducing the symptoms of headaches and migraines. Neurofeedback therapy has been shown by clinical research to be a highly effective modality for headaches and migraines.
Learning Disabilties
The areas of the brain responsible for these deficiencies are communicating with other areas of the brain at fast speeds. If the timing of this process is off, it can impair the ability to learn. Connectivity training such as Neurofeedback can improve the speed and timing of these electrical signals, helping individuals to think clearer and faster in their everyday lives.
Stress and Trauma
Neurofeedback can help your brain deal with past trauma and stressors by rewiring the way the brain responds in a safe, effective, drug-free way. No matter how difficult the situation, Neurofeedback can help by training the brain back toward more regulating brain waves to generate calming patterns.
Addictions
Substance abuse and addiction might feel like it is running your life. Believe it or not, it doesn’t have to be that way. Neurofeedback therapy can help you take control of your addictions.
